Type 911/93 2,687 cc air-cooled, SOHC horizontally-opposed six-cylinder engine, Bosch C.I.S. fuel injection, 175 HP at 5,800 rpm, five-speed manual gearbox in rear transaxle, four-wheel independent suspension, four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes; wheelbase: 89.4"

During the late 1960s and early 1970s, while Detroit’s “Big Three” and Porsche’s European rivals struggled to comply with tightening U.S. emissions and safety regulations, Porsche managed to steadily improve the 911’s performance. Visual changes for the new “G-Series” 911 models built from August 1973 included bodies updated for compliance with new U.S. crash-impact standards by Wolfgang Möbius, who masterfully created bumpers that met the new standards without ruining the 911’s looks. Strengthened floor pans, revised lighting, and a host of detail-oriented updates combined to make the renowned 911 even better than before.

Porsche’s performance models were realigned, with the 2.7-litre Carrera replacing the 911S at the top, and the 911S (also 2.7 litres) now positioned in place of 911E. The 911 Carrera was available with the “Burzel” or “ducktail rear spoiler of its predecessor, the “whale tail” from 1975, or no spoiler at all for a clean ‘early’ look. The 2.7-litre 911 Carrera was built from August 1973 through July 1975 with 2,243 examples comprising 1,036 Coupes and 433 Targas for Porsche’s RoW markets, plus 528 Coupes and 246 Targas destined for U.S. sale. Numbered 9115400275, this original U.S. delivery Carrera was completed in April 1975 with Bitter Chocolate paint over tan leather upholstery with an extraordinary list of options, including Koni shocks, oil cooler – front, sport seats – left and right, stereo speakers, gold forged alloy wheels, air-conditioning, and electric sliding sunroof. The Carrera was purchased new through Porsche + Audi North of Dublin, Ohio on July 3, 1975, confirmed by its original window sticker, bill of sale, warranty voucher, and purchase paperwork.

A lifelong Ohio resident until most recently, 9115400275 has remained extraordinarily original and immaculately preserved throughout. Paint depth readings confirm original paint, with exception of the front bonnet, which was repainted due to normal road wear, and the Carrera retains all original glass, trim, wheels, and nearly all original upholstery. The exterior features an exceptional and glossy paint finish, supple rubber seals, and factory fog lights, plus gold Carrera scripts and matching Fuchs alloy wheels wrapped in new, factory-correct Pirelli 185/70 and 215/60 VR15 CN36 radial tires. Inside the leather-swathed cabin are working air-conditioning, power windows and sunroof, correct dealer-installed Blaupunkt radio, keys, and plush carpeting protected by period sisal floor mats. The front compartment shows to be very much untouched with important items present, spot-welds and paint markings, plus the original date-stamped spare tire, jack, toolkit, dealer-installed electric tire pump, MotoMeter tire gauge in matching leather sheath, period protective bra, Porsche umbrella, and accessories. In addition to an immaculate undercarriage, the engine bay remains remarkably original and completely stock with all emissions equipment (a very rare occurrence) and air-conditioning system properly in place. Importantly, the car is complete with ALL original owner’s books in vinyl sleeve, including the VIN-matched Owner’s Manual, Emission Control System Maintenance and Warranty booklets, Blaupunkt CR-4074 radio manual, Marchal lamp manual, Weber A/C operating instructions, 1975 Porsche 911 Technical Specifications booklet, 1975 911 Technical Data Charts, 1975 911 Passing, Braking and Tire Reserve Load Data pamphlet, 1975 911 Service Information Book, and period repair and magazine publications. An amazing example for any Porsche enthusiast!
