Offered Without Reserve

ESTIMATE: $30,000 - $40,000
CHASSIS NO: 1B3BR65E1RV100910
• A highly original and collectible First-Generation Viper
• One owner from new and just 12,400 original miles
• The radical analog American Supercar that started a revolution
• Complete with hard top, soft top and side curtains
• Accompanied by original books and document folio
• Clean Carfax® and AutoCheck® vehicle history reports

488 cid V-10 engine, electronic fuel injection, 400 HP, Borg-Warner six-speed manual transmission, four-wheel independent suspension with unequal-length upper and lower control arms, coil-over shock absorbers, anti-roll bars, and rear toe link, ventilated four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes; wheelbase: 96.2"

With its muscular roadster body, raucous side-mounted exhaust pipes and insanely powerful V-10 engine lurking malevolently underhood, the Dodge Viper recalled the purity and purpose of the original Shelby Cobra of the 1960s. Most of all, the Viper’s sheer excitement and wretched excess made the utilitarian K-Car a distant memory and resurrected the once-proud Chrysler performance heritage. While the Viper’s basic concept was drawn from the Izod show car of 1985, development gathered steam in early 1988 during a casual meeting between Chrysler president Bob Lutz and design Chief Tom Gale. They envisioned a simple, high-performance “image car,” an idea that was also supported by racing legend Carroll Shelby, who was acting as a high-profile consultant for Chrysler at the time.

The resulting Viper made its debut at the 1989 North American International Auto Show in Detroit and was an immediate hit, drawing unsolicited order requests and deposit money on the spot. With its incredible 400-horsepower V-10 engine, stunning performance potential and race-inspired handling, not to mention its sinuous, menacing overall presence, the Viper legend was born, and its basic essence continues today under the careful guidance of Chrysler’s world-famous Street and Racing Technology (SRT) Division.

This particular first-generation RT/10 has resided in the same noteworthy northern Florida-based collection since new. As offered, it has covered only 12,400 original miles and remains complete and mechanically sound as a very usable example of the wicked Viper with excellent known history. This highly original, first-generation Viper comes with a hard top, soft top and side curtains and it is accompanied by original books in its factory-issued document folio, along with clean Carfax® and AutoCheck® vehicle history reports confirming its long-term single ownership and mileage. As offered, it simply marks an excellent and highly collectible, first-generation Viper with incomparable purity of design and purpose.
