Worldwide sells 87% in Houston and introduces a huge incentive program for The Auburn Auction

Worldwide delivered another notable set of results during this year’s Houston Classic Weekend, presenting a packed salesroom with an impressive selection of motorcars ranging from as early as 1898 through the 1970s. 87% of overall consignments found new homes, with a total sales figure of $9.1 million. Notable sales went to the rare and beautiful catalogue cover car, a one-off 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom ll Continental Roadster from the iconic Buess Collection, which sold for $660,000. The pristine 1935 Auburn 851SC Boattail Roadster, the centerpiece of The R.E.Monical Collection, brought $434,500, a stunning and original 1914 Packard 4-48 Seven-Passenger Touring realized $425,000 and a supremely elegant 1930 Cadillac V16 Fleetwood 2/4-Passenger Convertible Coupe sold for $302,500.

Next stop for the Worldwide team is The Auburn Auction in September, this year encompassing two exciting sales and 450 incremental cars. The company announced today that it will offer sellers a unique and sizable incentive at its expanded “More Great Cars” event that weekend—No seller’s commission. Period.

“We know our clients are serious about selling their cars. This demonstrates that we are without question utterly serious about selling those cars too,” said John Kruse, Managing Partner. “This new segment of The Auburn Auction is designed to enable buyers and sellers to successfully transact for what is simply the best value available from any auction company on the market today.”

The Auburn Auction runs from September 2nd through September 4th, incorporating “More Great Cars” which will run daily from 10AM Thursday through Saturday, with 150 cars going under the hammer each day.

“We will present our traditional premier catalogue auction on the evening of Saturday, September 4th as “The Main Event,” said Rod Egan, Managing Partner & Chief Auctioneer. “Limited as usual to just 80 exceptional automobiles, several important cars are already consigned, including a stunning 1929 Duesenberg Model J LeBaron Dual Cowl Phaeton. Our objective throughout this exciting and much expanded occasion is to give traditional collectors an ongoing incentive to keep coming back to Auburn, while welcoming new enthusiasts with an exciting selection of superior motorcars, a dynamic, re-energized environment, and a level of service that is simply second to none.”

Those wishing to establish whether their car or collection qualifies for entry in either sale should contact Rod Egan, John Kruse, or any of Worldwide’s Motorcar Specialists at 1.260.925.6789.
